Man injured after attackers with weapons storm shop and threaten staff

A man has been injured after men with weapons stormed a shop and threatened staff.

Police were called to reports of an armed robbery at the store in Great Stone Road, Stretford, after 4pm today (December 9).

Two men entered the shop with weapons and threatened staff, before leaving with a 'significant amount of cash'.

A man in his 30s sustained injuries and is being assessed by paramedics, officers say.

No arrests have been made.

An eyewitness reported seeing a scene in place outside a shop near to the junction with Kings Road.

Inspector Matthew Harvey, of GMP's Trafford Division, said: "Our investigation is continuing at pace following this awful incident and we will fight tirelessly to find the individuals responsible.

"We'll have police patrols in the area for reassurance, so please do not hesitate to speak to our officers if you have any concerns or questions.

"I would also strongly urge anyone with information or CCTV or DashCam footage of the area at the time, to please contact police on our website www.gmp.police.uk or call 101 quoting log number 1908 of 09/12/21."
