Man in wheelchair violently robbed by teenage thugs on train station platform

Two 14-year-old boys violently robbed a man in a wheelchair in a heartless train station attack.

The mugging was captured on surveillance camera on a rail platform in Minnesota, USA, on Sunday, August 25, at 4.30pm.

The disturbing video shows two boys on bicycles approach the man from two different sides while he attempts to defend himself.

He tries to hide his phone, but the two teens continue to go after it.

They eventually overpower the man, grab the device and knock him over.

He is left alone on the platform as the two run away.

The victim was sitting on the eastbound platform of the station when the attack took place.

Shocked commuters spoke to WCCO following the incident.

"Wow, it's terrible. This is a person in a wheelchair. Oh, my goodness," Metro Transit rider Shari Coleman said.

“What do we do? You can’t go out. You have to be alert constantly."

Bethany Tolo added: “That is horrible. I can't believe somebody could do that to a guy in a wheelchair. I mean, to a person in general.”

Police know who the two suspects are, but it is still unclear whether they were taken into custody, according to WCCO.

A Metro Transit spokesperson said it is safe to ride the trains.
