Man in wheelchair found soaked in blood with severe head injury in Scots street

Police are investigating after a man in a wheelchair was found soaked in blood with a serious head injury in Aberdeen.

The 32-year-old was found badly hurt on Pennan Road in Tillydrone at around 11am on Friday.

Eyewitnesses described seeing the man, who was using a wheelchair at the time, “soaked” in blood.

Police are now attempting to establish the facts around how the unnamed man came to be injured, and are particularly keen to trace the driver of a car seen in the area around the same time.

Detective Constable Kayleigh Mclean, from north-east CID, said: “We are carrying out inquiries to establish the exact circumstances and how this man was injured.

“As part of this investigation, we are keen to trace a yellow Seat Ibiza, which we believe was in the area just before the man was discovered and may be able to assist our inquiries.

“Anyone with any information on the incident itself, or the car in question, is encouraged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 1030 of October 2.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”

Tillydrone, Seaton and Old Aberdeen councillor Alex McLellan urged anyone who may have information about the incident to get in touch with officers.

He said: “This is incredibly concerning to hear and I would encourage anyone who may have any information to get in touch with Police Scotland to assist with their inquiries.”
