Man in water sparks emergency response at Kings Dock

A man was seen in the water at Kings Dock, sparking a large emergency service response.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the waterfront at around 9.20pm on Sunday, March 20, to reports of a man in the water. The incident happened near to the M&S Bank Arena where grime star Stormzy was performing this evening.

Large groups of people could be seen leaving the arena as ambulance crews turned into Albert Dock from the Strand.

Merseyside Police said the man was in the water for a short time and was quickly recovered. A police spokesperson said he was taken to hospital to be checked over but described him as being "safe and well."

Police remained at the waterfront while people left the Stormzy concert.
