Man in 'serious' condition in hospital after being victim of late-night attack in Glasgow's south side

A man is in 'serious but stable' condition in hospital after being found seriously injured on a street in the south side of Glasgow early this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene on Kilbirnie Street in the Tradeston area off Eglinton Toll around 3:05 am, and the road was closed off to traffic as a result.

The 24-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan, Glasgow, where he remains for treatment.

Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

Police confirm that enquiries into the incident are continuing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 3.05 am this morning, Sunday, 23 August, 2020, a 24-year-old man was found seriously injured on Kilbirnie Street, Laurieston, Glasgow. 

"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Govan, Glasgow, where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable. 

"Enquiries into the incident are continuing."
