Man in serious condition after South Coast truck crash

A man was airlifted in a serious but stable condition from the scene of a single-vehicle crash on the South Coast on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to Moss Vale Road at Cambewarra, north of Nowra, about 6pm on Friday in response to reports of a truck crash.

The 41-year-old driver sustained head lacerations, a collapsed lung and lower back injuries, NSW Police said in a statement on Saturday morning.

Police were told the truck was travelling east when it veered off the road and rolled down an embankment.

The man was treated at the scene before he was airlifted to St George Hospital.

South Coast Police District officers are investigating the crash, and anyone with information about the incident has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000.
