Man in 'serious condition' after collapse outside intu Broadmarsh

A cordon was set up in an area to preserve any potential evidence that may help with a police investigation over the collapse of a man in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police have now revealed more details of what is happening in an area of the city which is sealed off by police tape banning shoppers from accessing the intu Broadmarsh Centre from Lister Gate to Collin Street.

Officers attended yesterday evening (June 24) after the collapse outside the entrance to the shopping complex.
They arrived in Lister Gate at around 6.30pm and the man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The scene was cordoned off as investigations continue.


Detective Inspector Gareth Harding, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are still investigating the circumstances in this case and are liaising with staff at the Queen’s Medical Centre to work out what led to this man’s sudden collapse.


“We put a routine cordon on the area to preserve any potential evidence that may help with our investigation.”
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 769 of 24 June.
