Man in serious condition after being stabbed multiple times in Ballyfermot park

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed a number of times in a park in Ballyfermot this evening.

The man, who is in his 40s, was raced to St James's Hospital with injuries that are described as "serious".

He managed to make his way to a nearby off licence where staffed raised the alarm.

Gardai investigating major security leak at Dublin station 

Gardai are currently at the scene outside the off licence.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are at the scene of an incident outside an off licence in Ballyfermot this evening Friday the 5th of April 2019.

"A man (40s) was stabbed a number of times in a park in Ballyfermot, he made his way to an off licence for assistance. He was brought to St James Street Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. Investigations are ongoing."
