Man in serious condition following attack in Cumbernauld

A 27-year-old man is in serious condition after being found injured on a Cumbernauld street following a vicious attack.

The incident occurred at around 7pm yesterday(March 28) on Hornbeam Road.

The man was discovered injured following the serious assault.

Emergency services attended the scene and he was taken by ambulance to the Monklands and District General Hospital. Staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: “Around 7 pm on Saturday, 28 March, 2020, police received a report of a man with serious injuries in Hornbeam Rd, Cumbernauld.

“On arrival they discovered a 27-year-old man with serious injuries.

"He was taken by ambulance to Monklands and District General Hospital where hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident which police are treating as a serious assault.”
