A man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and is in hospital in a serious condition after refusing to leave a building in Newton Heath.
Police were called to property in Old Church Street on Sunday, following a report of a man behaving aggressively.
The road was closed while police negotiators engaged with a man at the scene who was refusing to leave the premises.
Police have this morning confirmed that a man, aged 35, was later arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Photos and video from the scene showed police officers wearing body armour and carrying shields and items being thrown onto a road behind the cordon from a window.
Ambulance crews and fire engines also attended and an air ambulance landed at a nearby car park.
Officers were later seen going into the property with fire crews on a ladder.
