Man in Santa pyjamas hides in loft as police come knocking on his door

A man wearing santa pyjamas hid in a loft as police busted a cannabis farm.

Officers from Knowsley local policing team executed a warrant under Section 23 misuse of Drugs Act today at an address on Roman Way in Kirkby.

When police got there they discovered a large cannabis farm at the address, along with a large quantity of the drug "ready for sale".

One man, who was wearing Santa pyjamas, was hiding in the loft of the property when police got there.

The electrics at the address had also been bridged and had to be made safe.

He was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Posting about the incident on Facebook, a Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers from the Knowsley Local Policing team executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant this morning at an address on Roman Way, Kirkby.

"Officers discovered a large cannabis farm at the address along with a large quantity of cannabis ready for sale.

"The electrics had been bridged and had to be made safe.

"One adult male, wearing Santa pyjamas, was located hiding in the loft of the property.

"The male was arrested on suspicion of Production of Cannabis and Abstracting Electricity.

"Santa didn’t come early for him this Christmas – but we certainly did! He has been taken to a custody suite for questioning."
