Man in hospital with serious injuries after stabbing in Wigan

A man remains in hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in Wigan.

The attack happened at a property on Riding Close in Hindley at around 6.40am on Saturday (February 13).

A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is now in a stable condition, a spokesman for GMP confirmed.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

He has since been released on bail.

A spokesman for GMP said: “Police were called at around 6.40am on Saturday 13 February to a report of a stabbing inside a property on Riding Close, Hindley.

“A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

“A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He has since been released on bail.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
