A man has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in West Derby.
The man, in his 70s, was hit on Eaton Road, towards Alder Hey, at around 8.05pm on Tuesday, March 15. It is believed he was hit by a light silver car.
Police confirmed the driver of the car drove off from the scene after leaving the pensioner lying injured in the road. Officers have now opened a hit and run investigation.

The victim remains in hospital with serious leg injuries. Enquiries are now ongoing to identify the light silver car involved and the driver.
Sergeant Jeremy Martin from the Roads Policing Unit said: "We’re keen to speak to establish the details of this incident and speak with the driver of this vehicle as a matter of urgency. Our officers are continuing to carry out extensive CCTV and witness enquiries to identify the driver.
