Man in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sale

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sale.

The crash happened on Washway Road at around 10.55pm last night (Friday).

A Skoda Fabia hit a male pedestrian, police said.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital from the scene in a serious but stable condition.

No arrests were made.

Washway Road was cordoned off after the crash last night.

Several police cars were stationed at the scene as the car was recovered.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 10.54pm last night (9 July) police were called to a report of a road traffic collision on Washway Road, Sale, involving a Skoda Fabia and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

"No arrests have been made. The road was closed while recovery of the vehicle took place."
