Man in hospital with life-threatening injuries as woman is arrested for suspected drug driving

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash closed a west Wales road for seven hours.

The A482 at Felinfach, near Lampeter, was closed from 5am until 12.50pm following the crash on Sunday morning.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "The collision involved an 03 plate Seat Leon.

"A male passenger was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

"The road was closed with diversions in place, and was reopened at 12.50pm.

"A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis, failing to stop after a collision, driving while unfit through drugs, aggravated vehicle taking without the owner’s consent, driving with no insurance and causing serious injury by dangerous driving."

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 5:15am yesterday morning to an incident on the A482, Felinfach.

"We responded with a rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance, two patients were conveyed to Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth."

The police have asked that if anyone has any information on the incident, they should contact Ceredigion Roads Policing unit on 101, quoting reference 069, of March 24.
