Man in hospital with head injuries after falling out of window

A man is being treated in hospital with head injuries after falling from the window of a flat.

The man, in his late 20s, was rushed to the major trauma centre at  Aintree Hospital  just after 9am on Tuesday, after the incident on Brighton Street in  Wallasey  .

Merseyside Police has confirmed today that the man is currently in hospital, with non-life threatening injuries to his head and hand.

A spokeswoman said: "The incident is being treated as a non-suspicious fall.

The ECHO understands that the man was trying to fix an aerial on the roof of his flat when he fell from the window.

Police were called to Brighton Street in Wallasey this morning to reports a male had fallen from the window of a property (Google Street View)

Ambulance crews, along with an advanced paramedic and a rapid response vehicle were called to the street at 9.01am yesterday.

Merseyside Police also attended shortly after 9.15am and officers remained in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

The corner of the street, including the property where the incident took place, was cordoned off.

At the time of the incident a spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service , said: "We were called at 9.01 this morning and we have attended with an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an advanced paradmedic.

"We have taken a man in his late 20s to a major trauma centre at Aintree Hospital with serious head injuries."

And  Merseyside Police  added: "We were called to reports of a male having fallen from a window of a property on Brighton Street at 9.15am.

"He has been taken to hospital and our officers are still at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the male falling from the window."
