Man in hospital with head injuries after alleged assault in Bridgend town centre

A 23-year-old man is being treated for head injuries after an alleged early morning assault in Bridgend town centre.

Police say they are investigating the reported attack on Wyndham Street at 2am on Thursday.

Officers said a man from Aberkenfig was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital where he is being treated for a head injury. 

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "At this stage the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening."

Two men, one aged 22 from Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the other, aged 28, from Plymouth, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently assisting the police with inquires.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote reference number 1900447470.
