Man in hospital with gunshot wound, men threatened at knifepoint

A man has been shot and another two men threatened with a knife in Queanbeyan on Thursday morning.

The two men were threatened with a knife while sitting in a Kia Cerato parked outside KFC on Waniassa Road at about 6.15am.

Police allege an unknown man entered the vehicle outside the fast food restaurant and threatened the two men, aged 32 and 60.

Shortly after, the man exited the vehicle and fled the scene in a blue Ford Focus.

According to police, the Ford Focus was being driven by another man and a woman and had the NSW registration CZ72NM.

Just after 7am, a man presented to Queanbeyan Hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower torso.

The 39 year old from Pambula was transferred to Canberra Hospital and remains in a serious condition.

ACT Police have since established a strike force to investigate whether the two incidents are linked.
