Man in hospital as police probe attack on Livingston street

A man has been rushed to hospital following an attack in Livingston .

Officers were called to the scene on Kenilworth Rise in the Almondvale area this morning after receiving reports that a man had been assaulted. 

Images from the scene show a major police presence with part of the street cordoned off.

On Twitter, one eye witness reported eight police cars, along with dog units.

He added that a crime scene investigation team had been carrying out searches in the area.

Danny Fuller wrote: "Fun stuff Kenilworth Rise Livingston streets closed. CSI finger tip search local area any ideas? Eight police cars, CSI dog units and lots of rubber gloves".

A spokesman said: "Police received a report that a man had been assaulted on Kenilworth Rise.
