Man in hospital after stabbing in Gowrie

A man is in hospital tonight following a stabbing in Gowrie.

Few details are currently available, but the incident was reported to police around 8.50pm and police declared a crime scene in the area.

A second crime scene was also established in the nearby suburb of Chisholm. A number of police cars were seen closing off streets around the BP service station on Benham Street.

Police confirmed one man had been taken to hospital, but no further information was available as to why they had established crime scenes in both Gowrie and Chisholm, with a spokesperson saying only that the matter was under investigation.

The Canberra Times has also received reports of a large police operation under way around Murranji Street in Hawker, although it is not clear if the incidents are related.

Those with information about any of these incidents have been asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

More to come.
