Man in hospital after 'serious assault' near Swansea school

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at around 12.50am today near Pentrehafod School in Swansea .

A 32-year-old man remains at Morriston Hospital following the incident. He is said to have non life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "We are appealing for information after a serious assault in Swansea in the early hours of this morning.

"We believe there was a disturbance in the street where a man was assaulted somewhere near Pentrehafod School sometime around 12.50am.

"He remains in hospital with non life threatening injuries.

"Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting occurrence 1900286927."

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called in the early hours of Monday, August 5, at approximately 12.51am to reports of a person needing medical assistance in central Swansea.

"We responded with one ambulance and we were supported by the police service. One patient was transported by road ambulance to Morriston Hospital, Swansea.”
