Man in hospital after serious assault in Lanarkshire town as cops launch probe

Cops are appealing for information following a serious assault in Larkhall this week as a 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital.

Officers are probing the incident on Tuesday which happened around 7.25pm and say a number of people were involved in a disturbance but an exact number is not known.

A-27-year-old man was attacked in Glen Avenue and was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A description of the thugs responsible is not known but there were reports of several people in the area all in their late twenties.

Detective Constable Debbie Walker of Lanarkshire CID said: “This incident has resulted in the serious injury of man and we are keen to establish what happened and trace those responsible as soon as possible.

“We believe there were a number of people in the area at the time of the assault and we are keen to talk to anyone who might have seen anything.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3008 of 16 March.
