Man in hospital after 'serious assault' at Forest Recreation Ground park and ride

A man has been taken to hospital following a "serious assault" at Nottingham's Forest Recreation Ground.

Police confirmed a section of the city’s Forest Recreation Ground remains cordoned off on Tuesday evening (May 12) as they investigate the serious assault.

Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 6pm on Tuesday to reports of the assault.

It was reported to have taken place on the Forest Park and Ride site close to its Gregory Boulevard entrance.

The victim, a man in his early twenties, has been taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre by ambulance crews following the incident, where he is being treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering, the force confirmed.

Crime Scene Investigators now continue their work at the scene.

Inspector Amy English said: “Our officers have been actively investigating this incident since the time it was first reported to us and our investigative teams have now begun their work to trace those responsible for the assault.

“We believe there will have been a number of people in the area around the time of the incident and I would encourage anyone with any information to come forward and contact Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible.”

No arrests have been made in connection with the assault to date.

Anyone who witnessed the information or who has any information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 594 of 12 May when they call.
