Pilot rushed to hospital after plane crash in north of Scotland

A man has been taken to hospital after a light aircraft crashed in Elgin on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the Birnie area at around 4pm.

A single-seater craft crashed near Easterton Airfield.

One man was injured although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police attended and sealed off the area.

An investigation will be carried out by the Air Accident Investigation Branch.
