A man is in hospital after a horror crash between a tipper truck and a lorry on a Scots road.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the 'serious' crash near Kilmarnock yesterday.
The 38-year-old man driving the Ford tipper collided with a lorry which was at a standstill on the A759, near to Moorfield Industrial Estate in Gatehead around 2.45pm.
Paramedics rushed him by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
The lorry driver was unhurt in the incident.
Police have now urged anyone with footage or information on the crash to get in touch.
Sergeant Craig Beaver of the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Ayrshire said: “Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information or footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 quoting reference 1964 of 17 August.”
