Man in hospital after falling from M53 motorway bridge

A man is in hospital after falling from a motorway bridge yesterday afternoon.

Police have confirmed the man is now in a stable condition after he fell from the bridge on the M53.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and closed off the M53 motorway after the incident around 12.40pm yesterday (Tuesday).

The man was flown from scene to hospital in an air ambulance.

Police closed a section of the motorway between Junction 2 Moreton and Junction 3 Woodchurch while they dealt with the scene.

Yesterday police released a statement to the ECHO which read: "Emergency services are in attendance on the M53 today (Tuesday 15 June)

"At around 12.40pm we received a report that a man had fallen from a bridge at Junction 2.

"He was taken to hospital for his injuries by air ambulance."
