Man in hospital after early morning incident as cops close off Glasgow road

A man has been hospitalised following an early morning incident in Glasgow's east end.

Police remain in South Scott Street in Baillieston after the alarm was raised at around 5.20am.

The 27-year-old was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

It is believed his injuries are non life threatening.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland told the Record: "Police Scotland are in South Scott Street in Baillieston after reports of a disturbance at a property at around 5.20am.

"A 27-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with non-life threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are in the early stages as officers try to establish what happened."

The closure of South Scott Street has affected morning rush hour commuters.

First Bus took to social media to inform locals of how their number two service has been altered in the wake of the incident.

"Due to a police incident South Scott Street Baillieston is closed.

"The two is currently affected and will continue to Main St, down to Swinton roundabout and return via Main Street in both directions.

"We apologise for any inconvenience."
