Man in hospital after car flips onto its roof and lands in nearby garden

An elderly man was cut free from a car after it overturned in Bolton.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Bolton Road, Bradshaw, at about 2.20pm.

A picture posted on Facebook shows the car lying on its roof in a garden near to The Crofters pub.

Firefighters from Bolton North and Horwich attended the scene and cut the man from the vehicle.

The man, who is believed to be in his 80s, was found to be conscious and breathing.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Bolton Road at about 2.20pm and sent a rapid response vehicle and senior clinician.

"A man in his late 80s has been taken to hospital."

 

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 2.20pm to a car flipped over and a man trapped inside.

"We cut him from the car. He was conscious and breathing with minor injuries."
