Man in hospital after being hit by car in Liverpool city centre

A man was taken to hospital with a head injury after he was hit by a car on Myrtle Street in Liverpool city centre.

The emergency services were called to out Myrtle Street at around 10.10pm last night, following reports of a road accident. A police spokesman told the ECHO that a man suffered a head injury and a suspected fractured elbow after he was knocked down by a car.

His condition was not said to be life threatening. Police said the driver did not stop at the scene, but police could not say at this stage if the incident was being treated as a hit and run.
