A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Bolton.
Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing on Rishton Avenue in Great Lever at around 5.40pm on Friday, July 17.
The victim - a 38-year-old man - was taken to hospital following the incident.
He remains there in a stable condition this morning, Greater Manchester Police said.
No arrests have been made.
Police said the man was found on Rishton Avenue, but enquiries are taking place to establish whether the stabbing took place elsewhere.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 5.40pm on Friday 17 July 2020, police were called by the ambulance service to reports that a man had been stabbed on Rishton Avenue, Bolton.
"Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. He remains in a stable condition.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
Officers cordoned off a footpath at the back of Rishton Avenue last night.
The footpath - in a wooded area - was taped off while forensic officers carried out investigation work.
Several police vehicles and ambulances were pictured at the scene.
An air ambulance also landed on some grass nearby.
