A man remains in hospital after being ‘attacked with a crowbar’ at a hand car wash in Swinton.
Police were called to the scene on East Lancs Road just after 2.20pm on Monday (August 31).
Witnesses described hearing screams as a man in his 40s was assaulted by three people – one wielding a weapon.
Paramedics attended and the man was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury where he remains.
A witness, who did not wish to be named, said: “We heard the women that work there screaming. Some lads attacked them.
“Myself and another neighbour phoned the police. One of the workers was injured and they smashed every window of a car with crowbars. Police were there for several hours.
A spokesman for GMP said: "Shortly after 2.20pm on Monday 31 August 2020, officers were called to a report of an assault on at a car wash situated on the East Lancashire Road in Swinton.
“It is believed a man in his 40s was assaulted by three people, one armed with a weapon.
“Emergency services attended and the man suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital where he remains.”
