Man in his 70s dies in Gloucester Road in Bristol, say police

A man in his 70s died at an address in Gloucester Road in Bristol yesterday, police confirmed today.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The incident close to the Cider Press pub sparked a huge emergency service presence in the road yesterday afternoon (February 19).

Ambulance crews, as well as police officers, descended onto the scene from around 3.20pm onwards.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has now confirmed a man in his 70s was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

A spokesperson said: "We were called by the ambulance service to attend an address in Gloucester Road yesterday (February 19) at 3.50pm,"

"Medical assistance was provided by paramedics to a man in his 70s, but he died at the scene.

"The cause of death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service added: "We were called at 3.22pm about an incident on Gloucester Road.

"We sent land ambulance crews and specialist paramedics to attend the incident."
