Man in his 60s robs woman in the street - for just £6

A man told a woman he had a knife and mugged her for the sake of just £6 in cash.

The woman was walking along Guywood Lane in Romiley when she was approached from behind by a man in his sixties, who told her she had dropped something.

As she turned to look, the man said that he had a knife and demanded her purse and phone. 

The victim handed over her purse, which contained about £6 cash and the offender made off along Leyfield Avenue.

The victim did not see a knife.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Saturday, November 9.

The man is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, slim build, 60 years old, wearing a black padded jacket, white hood and baggy jeans.

He spoke with a Manchester accent
