A man in his 50s was found dead near Victoria station in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called just before 5am following reports a man had collapsed outside McDonalds on Victoria Street.
Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service, but a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
A police cordon was put in place as police were stationed near the forensic tent.
The road remains open to pedestrians.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Around 04:50hrs on Tuesday, 23 June, officers attended Victoria Street, Westminster, after a man was found collapsed.
“Police attended with the London Ambulance Service.
“The man – aged in his 50s – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, and officers are working to trace the man's next of kin.
“The circumstances of his death are under investigation.
“Anybody with information is urged to call 101, quoting reference 2029/23JUN.”
