Man in his 40s taken to hospital with 'stab wounds' following violent incident in Tullamore

A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital with "apparent stab wounds" following a violent public order incident at a housing estate in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

The altercation took place at about 1.40pm today with gardai and the Armed Support Unit rushing to the scene in the Arden View area

The injured man was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital with apparent stab wounds.

A garda spokesman told the Irish Daily Mirror: "His injuries are believed to be serious but not life threatening.

"Gardaí are currently still at the scene.

"No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing. No further information is available at this time."
