Man in his 40s rushed to hospital after falling from electric scooter

Gardai appealing for witnesses after a man was rushed to St James Hospital hospital after falling from an electric scooter.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the fall on Herberton Road in Drimnagh this morning.

The man, who is in his 40s, was travelling on an electric scooter when he fell from the vehicle at around 8:45am.

He is understood to be in a serious condition in hospital.

The busy South Dublin road was closed for a time to allow Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the scene.

It has now fully-reopened.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at this time and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crumlin Garda station on 01 666 6200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
