Man in his 40s hospitalised after shooting in Ballyvolane, Co Cork

A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Co Cork.

The incident happened in the Ballyvolane area around 7.40pm on Friday evening.

A garda spokesperson said: "A male in his 40s was brought to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
