Man in his 40s found dead after police called to house in Bury

A man's body was discovered after police were called to a home in Bury.

Officers received a report of concern for the welfare of a man at a property, in Horridge Street, at about 4.25pm on Tuesday (January 19).

Emergency services attended and a man in his 40s died at the scene.

There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, say Greater Manchester Police.

A file has been passed to the coroner.

An eyewitness reported seeing several police vehicles and an ambulance parked on the street, in the Woolfold area of the town, on Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man at around 4.25pm on Tuesday 19 January at an address on Horridge Street, Bury.

"A man in his 40s sadly passed away at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner."
