Man in his 40s dies in Liddell motorcycle crash

A MAN has died after a motorcycle crash in the upper Hunter on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the Old New England Highway at Liddell about 7.15am after reports a motorcycle left the road and rolled down an embankment.

Police said they found the driver, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, deceased at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Hunter Valley Police District officers established a crime scene and began making inquiries into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
