Man in his 30s hit by car as police close road
A main road was closed after a man was hit by a car in the early hours of Friday.
Police and paramedics were called to Parr Stocks Road in St Helens at around 12.20am to reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian. People living in the area described coming home to a large police presence as police cars lined the street.
A road closure was put in place while emergency services worked at the scene. Merseyside Police said the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital after suffering injuries to his back.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. Police are appealing for information and asking anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to come forward.
