Man in his 30s found dead near to children's park

A man in his 30s has been found dead in a street in what police are treating as an "unexplained death".

Emergency services were called to Mill Lane, in Kirkby, this morning at about 7.35am.

The force said they were called to the scene, near a children's park, after reports a man had been found.

Officers said the man sadly died.

His death at this stage is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating following the death of a man in Kirkby this morning, Thursday, 16 April.

"Emergency services were called to Mill Lane at around 7.35am following reports a man in his 30’s had been found in the street.

"He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The man’s next of kin have been informed however he has not yet been formally identified. The death is currently being treated as unexplained however is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.
