Man in his 30s dead after being trapped under van

A man has died after being trapped under a van in Parbold.

Police confirm they were called by North West Ambulance service to the scene at around 3.30pm on Monday, June 19. It was reported that a man had become trapped under a van, at Lancaster Lane.

Paramedics treated the man, in his 30s, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The man's death is not being treated as suspicious by police. A file is now being prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: "We were called by the ambulance service at about 3.30pm yesterday to a report that a man had become trapped under a van at Lancaster Lane in Parbold.

"Emergency services attended but very sadly the man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner."

Lancaster Lane was closed for some time, while police carried out enquiries and emergency services dealt with the incident. Posting on the Ormskirk and Rural West Lancs Police Facebook page, a spokesperson said: "We are currently attending an incident on Lancaster Lane and a road closure is in place.

"The road is closed at Parbold Hill at the junction with Lancaster Lane. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible."
