A man has been arrested over the capital murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe eight years ago.
Det Sgt Adrian Donohoe, 41, was shot dead outside Lordship Credit Union in Bellurgan, Co Louth on the evening of January 25, 2013.
And now a man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the incident.
He was detained in the Dundalk area at 8.30am on Monday and is now being held at Dundalk Garda Station.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí have arrested a man, aged in his 30s, this morning, 19th April 2021 in relation to the capital murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe on 25th January 2013.
"The man was arrested in the Dundalk area shortly before 8.30am and is currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007."
