Man in his 30s arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in north west London

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in north west London.

Police cordoned off an area of Station Road in Harrow following a serious incident in the early hours of this morning.

Two forensic tents have been erected on the green outside St John’s Church opposite the former Debenhams building.

Officers were called to reports of a sexual assault on Station Road just before 1am. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.

The victim, in his 60s, is being supported by specialist officers.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Officers were called at 00:49hrs on Wednesday, 23 July to reports of a sexual assault on Station Road, Harrow.

“A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual offences and remains in police custody.

“The victim, a man in his 60s, is being supported by specialist officers.

“A crime scene remains in place and there will be an increased police presence in the area.

“This is believed to be an isolated incident at this stage.”
