Man in his 20s killed on train tracks in Llwynypia

A man in his 20s has died following an incident on the train track in Llwynypia, Rhondda.

The line between Pontypridd and Treherbert was closed from 9pm until 11pm Tuesday, February 11 as officers from British Transport Police dealt with the incident.

A spokesman for the force confirmed officers were called to Llwynypia station at 8.56pm following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

They said: "Officers attended and sadly a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

A replacement bus service was put on to serve stations between Pontypridd and Treherbert until 11pm on Tuesday evening.

Train services were delayed until the end of service on Tuesday.

The line was reopened for start of services on Wednesday morning
