Man in his 20s found dead inside new Royal Liverpool Hospital

A man in his 20s was found dead inside the new Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Officers rushed to the hospital on West Derby Street at 8.56pm on Friday, November 18 following reports of the concern for the safety of a man inside the premises. A number of police vehicles, including patrol cars and vans, surrounded the entrance to the hospital.

The man, who was in his 20s, received immediate treatment at the scene but was pronounced died. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the man's next of kin have been informed.

An investigation is underway in the area to establish the circumstances and a scene is currently in place at the hospital.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "Members of the public are advised to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
