Man in his 20s dies in fatal shooting in Brixton

A man in his 20s died in a fatal shooting in Brixton on Thursday.

The victim was admitted to a south London hospital with gunshot injuries but sadly emergency services were unable to save him and he died in the afternoon.

Police had been alerted to the incident by hospital staff at around 6.25am.

It is believed the man got his gunshot injuries after a shooting in the vicinity of Belinda Road, SW9 at around 6am.

A crime scene remains in place as police investigate.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

More officers will be patrolling in and around the area.
