Man in his 20s blasted multiple times in broad daylight London shooting

A young man has been rushed to hospital after being shot multiple times in broad daylight on the streets of the capital.

A witness described hearing two bangs echo through an area of Willesden, west London.

Emergency services were called to Dudden Hill Lane to reports of a man with gunshot injuries.

Met Police said victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to a major trauma centre and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A witness, who wishes to remain anonymous but works nearby, told MyLondon: "I heard it. Two bangs.

"I knew it was a firearm. I’ve heard firearms before."

A cordon was set up across Dudden Hill Lane with forensic officers seen going into Yard Style, a Caribbean restaurant.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Police were called at approximately 1.59pm on Tuesday May 11 to reports of a man with gunshot injuries on Dudden Hill Lane, Willesden Green.

"Officers along with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and Helicopter Emergency Medical Service attended and found a man in his 20s with multiple gunshot injuries.

"He was taken to hospital by LAS; he remains in a stable condition and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A crime scene remains in place and the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the local area.

"At this early stage, there have been no arrests.

"Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command (Trident) are investigating and enquiries continue.

"Anybody with information or dashcam footage of the incident is asked to call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 3780/11MAY. To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Tuesday's incident is the second reported shooting incident in the last week in the Brent borough.

Police were called to Church Lane, Kingsbury, at 4.15pm on Friday May 7 following reports of a firearm discharge.

No injuries were reported.
