Man in custody after woman stabbed to death in Washington Park

Police arrested a man after a woman was found stabbed to death Thursday in Washington Park on the South Side.
Someone called 911 asking for help shortly before 8 a.m. in the 300 block of East 53rd Street, according to Chicago police. Responding officers found the woman dead with stab wounds inside an apartment building.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.
A man was taken into custody and Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, police said.
