Man in critical condition after truck crash near Port of Brisbane

The driver of one truck sustained life-threatening injuries and is in a critical condition.

A truck crash near the Port of Brisbane has left two men injured, one critically, and caused significant delays to more than 100 semi-trailers travelling in and out of the area.

Police said a B-double and a semi-trailer collided on Port Drive, Lytton, on Friday night, causing delays for several hours.

One of the drivers, a 58-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.

The second driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Acting Inspector Steve Watterson said officers would remain at the scene as they investigated the incident.

"It would appear early stages of the investigations that one truck has crossed onto the incorrect side of the road," he said.

"Both drivers have been taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.

"The port road has been closed for a substantial amount of time and will remain so until the crash unit have carried out their investigation."
